In 2024, we welcomed 4 million customers who together shopped for SEK 6.4 billion. With record sales, high visitor numbers and continued strong customer loyalty, we continue to develop Gekås Ullared as Sweden’s most popular shopping destination.

In 2024, Gekås was visited by 4 million customers and together they shopped for SEK 6.4 billion.

Record sales

On Saturday, November 8, 2025, customers shopped for SEK 56 million. With this, the previous sales record from November 9, 2024, which was SEK 53.4 million, was broken.

Record number of visitors

On Tuesday, July 30, 2019, 29,200 customers visited Gekås Ullared.

Record long queue

The longest queue ever occurred on October 30, 2010. The queue was then 1.4 kilometers long.

The average customer

The average customer is a 43-year-old woman with or without children and living in Götaland. She travels to Gekås during the day and drives 23 miles one way. She visits the store 2-5 times a year and spends almost five hours in the store and shops for 3300 SEK. According to customer surveys, 64% of our customers are women and 36% are men.

Dizzying department store figures

• The store area of the department store is 45 000 m², has 82 checkouts and can accommodate 8 900 customers at the same time.
• Gekås Ullared has 9,000 shopping carts, 10,000 shopping baskets and 3,500 parking spaces.
• In a year, 133 million items pass through the checkouts. There are over 150 000 unique items in the range.
• During a week in high season, the store is emptied of goods three times. Each customer picks up goods for SEK 15 per minute.

• 10.5 million pairs of socks a year.
• 406,000 bags of Ahlgrens cars per year.
• 188 700 freezer bags a day.
• 227 million bull molds per year.
• 4.8 million toys in a year (every tenth toy bought in Sweden is sold at Gekås).

• 380 miles of Christmas wrapping paper every year.
• 6700 packs of eyewear wipes a week.
• 138 tons of organic bananas in one year.

Large surfaces

Gekås is growing all the time. The Gekås Ullared department store has a total gross floor area of 114,000 m², divided into: retail space 45,000 m², warehouse, technical and staff areas 60,400 m², restaurant floor 7,350 m². Our central warehouse Sönneräng is 70,000 m² in size.
