The small store that once started on the ground floor of a villa in Ullared is today Sweden’s most popular destination. With a stable business foundation, Gekås Ullared is today a well-known brand. A lot has happened since the start in the 60s, but the story lives on and you can now, just as then, be sure that you will find goods at low prices, every day, all year round.

Our history

Here you can follow the history of Gekås. From the fortunate meeting with love that brought founder Göran Karlsson to Ullared and on through history to a yellow department store several football fields in size. New owners, record figures, bus stations, expansions, accommodation facilities, eateries, royal visits and TV series.
